Soil Bioengineering
With British Columbia’s diverse topography and often wet climate, erosion and slope stability are common issues in a range of site conditions. In particular, steep slopes, shorelines, river banks, and road cuts are areas that experience excessive erosion, and slope failures. We apply soil bioengineering techniques to provide immediate and lasting solutions to erosion, sediment, and slope stability, while providing long term habitat value and ecological resilience.
Soil bioengineering involves the use of living plant materials to stabilize surface soils, restore landslide areas, revegetate eroding slopes and riparian areas, and provide habitat. Our staff have extensive experience assessing sites, providing prescriptions, and implementing soil bioengineering works.
