Project Update: Dyke Road Park Restoration Project

Mar 3, 2026

We are proud to support the ongoing Dyke Road Park Restoration Project, part of the broader Resilient Coasts for Salmon initiative, which advances nature‑based shoreline solutions across coastal B.C.

Recent work at Dyke Road Park has included major estuary enhancements - such as creation of new tidal channels, expansion of salt marsh, and installation of over 20,000 native plants - alongside early construction of new public access features. These improvements form Phase 1 of the multi‑year effort led by the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), with project completion anticipated in spring 2026.

The project has been a collaborative effort by many partners, including the CVRD, Project

Watershed, Guardians of Our Salish Estuaries, K’ómoks First Nation, Pacific Salmon Foundation, the Stewardship Centre for BC, Hapa Collaborative and Northwest Hydraulic Consultants. Our role has included contributing to project design, applying for Green Shores® certification, and site monitoring and maintenance. We’re proud to contribute ecological expertise that supports resilient habitat, climate‑adaptive design, and long‑term community benefit as part of this award-winning project.
